28 minutes of sex in a 180 minute film hardly makes it a porn flick. It wasn't censored, the film was shot that way. Have you actually watched the whole film? It is a beautiful film about love and loss. In the lesbian film genre, my other favourite is Below Her Mouth, because of its happy ending and the memorable bath-tub masturbation scene. Disobedience and Ammonite are films in which the relationships are secret because of conservative societies in which they take place. For that reason, I prefer the first two as they portray lesbian relationships for what they are - normal and nothing to be ashamed of. Though in both cases there are still elements of non-acceptance or fear of rejection.
